Flight Sim Add-Ons is a news and review site, pure and simple. We aim to discuss and review many flight simulator add-ons and give a fair, practical and balanced opinion on a variety of extensions to modern flight simulation software.
“What qualifies us?”, you may ask. Primarily, experience in flight simulation. Personally, I have clocked up several hours in real Cessna 172’s and Piper Warrior PA28’s and spent many a weekend flying high in a wide variety of flight simulation software, from the days of FSII on the Commodore 64 to Microsoft’s superb Flight Simulator X.
How they’ve come on since those days!
When it comes to spending money on extending a flight simulator, we all want to know our investments will return with hours of enjoyment, both from the scale of the learning curve to the sheer thrill of pulling it altogether and successfully flying the machines.
I’m also a fan of visuals and the test rig will highlight this. I always look at ways to improve the ground textures and objects to give as high a level of realism as possible. Atmosphere creates ambience so the test rig will also contain weather manipulation software too for those beautiful dawns, glowing sunsets and clouds you want to fly through.
